This makes no sense to me. Ok, in school they thought me that it is electrons and protons that have negative and positive charge respectively. If an atom looses electron, it becomes kation, if it gains electron it is anion. So if positron is positively charged particle that's opposite of electron, where do they spin in outer atoms shell as this is reserved for electrons. If they collide they annihilate each other releasing gamma rays. I thought gamma rays are protons from atom core, which are neutral charge wise, but can go through many physical structures. I'm completely confused now.
